About Me

I am Debra Dufrene - DebiDeaux of DebiDeaux Designs.

I love glass!

I love to play with fire!

I am a flamework glass artist.

I make complex, multi-layered, colorfulbeads.

I make whimsical, fun, funky sculptural beads.

I make wonderful wearable art from my own handmade glass baubles.

I sell beads, sculpture and wearable art.

I buy more glass and supplies for making more beads, sculpture and wearable art.

I indulge in this passionate occupation in my home based studio in the Algiers Point neighborhood of New Orleans, Louisiana. (I welcome anyone to visit my studio - upon request - which is just a fancy way of saying, "gimme enough notice so I can get dressed and put the dogs outside".)

I teach and share my passion and love for the art of flamework glass beadmaking at the New Orleans Creative Glass Institute (NOCGI) in MidCity at 3924b Conti St, New Orleans, LA 70119. You can get information and/or request a class by calling Jenny at 504.482.6002. NOCGI needs at least 3 students for a class but you can also contact me for a private class. You can find me and my shiny little glass baubles at the Art Market of New Orleans presented by the Art Council of New Orleans in Palmer Park on the corner of S. Carrollton and S. Claiborne Avenues on the last Saturday of every month from 10am to 4pm.
