Arts Market Holiday Extravaganza!

Saturday, December 20th and Sunday, December 21st from 10 am to 4 pm, the Arts Market of New Orleans in Palmer Park - corner of Carrollton and Claiborne Avenues (the final stop of the St. Charles streetcar).
Make note that this month the arts market is a week early and will be for two days, both Saturday and Sunday, so that you may take advantage of the locally made art in time for the holiday season.

I have lots of new pieces to offer including several more of the ever popular turtles.

With youngsters in mind I made several cupcakes and even an ice cream cone. And some stockings to hang from your ears instead of the mantle. LOL
Come and see me! It's going to be a great show. There will be 125 artists representing a wide variety of hand made goodies.
Till later - Flame On!

Fresh from the Flames - It's a Herd o' Turtles!

When I was a kid getting us loaded into the car and ready to hit the road was always quite a production so when Mom finally put the car in gear and hit the road she would always proudly declare, "And we're off! ...like a herd of turtles." So this week I dedicate "Fresh From the Flames" and a new "Herd O' Turtles to my Mom.

You can see these and many more shiny glass baubles by DebiDeaux at the Christmas Extravaganza by the Art Market of New Orleans in Palmer Park on Saturday, December 20 and Sunday, December 21. Both days from 10am to 4pm.
Oh, and I will have many of these pretties on display at the Open House for the New Orleans Creative Glass Institute (NOCGI) on Saturday, December 12 from noon to 5pm. This will be a wonderful day of demonstrations and guided hands-on torch time. I will be sending a newsletter out with more information later this week.
Till then - Flame On!

Beads are like crack...

I recently found this in one of my saved files (I don't where it comes from) ...

Warning!

Beads are like crack:

The first bead is free.

Beading is almost instantly addictive.

Beads come in little baggies and little vials.

Eventually you have to start selling beads so you can afford to support your habit.

I think this warning is too late for me but perhaps it can still save you. Then again, if you're reading this... ah hah hah hah hah!

For Bead Addict Support - C'mon down and see me at the Arts Market of New Orleans, Sunday, November 30 in Palmer Park corner of S. Carrollton and S. Claiborne from 10am to 4pm .

Arts Market Moved to Sunday!

Arts Market of New Orleans has moved this weekend's market to Sunday, November 30 due to rain predicted on the scheduled Saturday market. It is still in Palmer Park and still to be from 10am to 4pm.
Look for me in my usual place at the corner where the four sidewalks meet.
I am giving special discounts to all my regulars. Just mention reading my blog or newsletter.
Till Sunday - Flame On!

Giving Thanks for my Art

I love flamework so much. I think that translates to my work. When I count my blessing, of which I have many, I will be sure to add in the fact that I am a flamework artist.
I am endlessly thankful that I am given the time to devote to my flame by my loving and beloved husband, Bob.
I am grateful that I live in a city that worships art and artists and thus enables me to sell my art so that I may feed my addiction for more glass.
I am indebted to all the wonderful glass artists that have shared their love and knowledge of the marriage of glass and flame on the forums of the internet.
Till later - Flame On!
